[fhb] USWBSI Call for Nominations - Submit by Sept 14

Dear FHB Community,

 

The U.S. Wheat & Barley Scab Initiative (USWBSI) is now accepting open
nominations for its leadership positions for the Steering Committee and
several members of the Research Area and Coordinated Project Committees.
Anyone receiving this message may submit a nomination for a colleague,
self-nominations are also welcome, and reappointments are permissible.
Submit your nominations by completing the
<https://forms.gle/DA8yGBFx2cVW3hF1A> USWBSI Nominations form by September
14. You may submit more than one nomination, simply complete a separate form
for each nominee.

 

USWBSI Steering Committee Positions

The USWBSI Steering Committee composition is designed to represent all of
the research and commercial sectors impacted by FHB. Members serve a 4-year
term and may be reappointed. The following representative positions have
Steering Committee member openings based on members with terms expiring on
12/31/23, current member willing to be reappointed are noted.

USWBSI Research Area and Coordinated Project Open Member Positions

Committee members serve an important role in the development of the USWBSI
research plan and budget and are instrumental to the funding review process.
Members serve a 4-year term and may be reappointed. The following Research
Area (RA) and Coordinated Project (CP) Committees have openings based on
members with terms expiring on 12/31/23. Nominations will be provided to the
RA/CP for consideration.

Food Safety and Toxicology (FST) Committee


Gene Discovery & Engineering Resistance (GDER) Committee


Pathogen Biology & Genetics (PBG) Committee


Hard Winter Wheat Coordinated Projects Committee


Variety Development - Spring Wheat (VDHR-SPR) Coordinated Projects Committee


Variety Development - Southern Soft Winter Wheat (VDHR-SWW) Coordinated
Projects Committee

 

Submit your nominations by completing the

14. Submissions must include the name and affiliation of the nominee, the
committee for nomination (refer to list above), and a short biographical
sketch on the nominee along with confirmation of the acceptance of the
nomination and indication that they agree to carry-out the duties and
responsibilities as described.

Current members of the Steering Committee will vote in October to confirm
appointments, all new terms start on January 1, 2024.
