FHB Colleagues,

We hope everyone is doing well. We wanted to make you aware of our September Featured Researcher post on the What’s Hot news feed of ScabUSA <https://scabusa.org/>.

Our current featured researcher is Dr. Nicholas Santantonio. Dr. Santantonio is an assistant professor at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. His projects focus on breeding soft winter wheat and barley for FHB resistance and are funded under the Barley Coordinated Project and Variety Development and Host Resistance Southern Winter Wheat categories of the RFP.

Please learn more about Dr. Santantonio's research <https://scabusa.org/featured-researcher-bio/Nicholas-Santantonio> and welcome him to the USWBSI.

Is your research aligned with the mission of the U.S. Wheat and Barley Scab Initiative? The FY22 USWBSI Request for Pre-Proposals is now in progress. USWBSI is now accepting pre-proposals on the Electronic Pre-proposal Submission (EPS) System. Check out the details for the FY22 USWBSI RFP under the Research Area Individual Projects Category <https://scabusa.org/research_rfp-fy22/Cat3> today! (All other categories required a Letter of Intent and are now closed.)

Warm regards,
Amber
