We have just completed a 7-day stretch of dry cool weather. The risk of a severe scab outbreak continues to be low. Wheat that will flower in the next few days is not likely to be severely infected even if the forecasted rain develops. However, the long-range forecast indicates there is at least a 40% chance of rain daily through Thursday. If frequent rains develop beyond the weekend then wheat that flowers next week could be under higher risk of scab. Check this website for risk assessments as these conditions unfold for wheat that has not yet flowered.
