Scab risk remains low and we are entering a period free of any showers until possibly Friday (May 13). Wheat that will flower this week does not require fungicides sprays for scab. Check for other fungal diseases but we have not seen any significant need for fungicides on wheat this season. If showers appear late this week the scab risk will lag and take at least a few days before it will increase. This means that only fields that come into flower next week (primarily the northern half of the state) will have the potential to be at risk of developing scab. Check this website for risk assessment for wheat that has not yet flowered especially if showers redevelop or we get a series of days with warm humid conditions.
