Wheat in southern Kansas is now at the flag leaf emergence stages of growth.
This suggests that wheat in these areas should begin heading and flowering
within the next 10-14 days. The crop is still jointing in other areas of the
state. Drought conditions continue to dominate the wheat production season;
however, recent rains have brought some relief to the north central region
of the state. The current risk of severe FHB in Kansas is low.
