FHB Update - Central GP, Hard Winter Wheat

Most wheat in Kansas should be past the flowering stages of growth when the crop is most vulnerable to Fusarium head blight (FHB). Hot temperatures have hastened the maturity of the crop in many parts of central KS, and there have been no reports of significant outbreaks of FHB to date. I will be surveying parts of north central and northeast KS this week. I will try to provide another report on disease levels in this area of the state near the end of the week.
