FHB Colleagues,

We hope everyone is having a great year. We wanted to make you aware of our new Featured Researcher post on the What’s Hot news feed of ScabUSA <https://scabusa.org/>.

Our current featured researcher is Dr. Katherine Jordan. Dr. Jordan is a Research Geneticist with the USDA-ARS, Hard Winter Wheat Genetics Research in Manhattan, Kansas. Her project, “Haplotype Informed Prediction of FHB Resistance in US Wheat Breeding Programs,” is in its first year and is funded under the Transformational Science pilot program that was started this year and is now a new category in the the FY22 RFP.

Please learn more about Dr. Jordan’s research <https://scabusa.org/featured-researcher-bio> and welcome her to the USWBSI.

Do you have a novel concept that could be applied to reducing the impact of Fusarium head blight of wheat and barley and are not currently funded by the U.S. Wheat and Barley Scab Initiative? Submit your concept to the FY22 USWBSI RFP under the Transformation Science Category <https://scabusa.org/research_rfp-fy22/Cat4> today! (Letters of Intent are due by July 1, 2021.)

Warm regards,
Amber
