[Fhb-update_ma] FHB Update from DE, 05/02/16

Some Southern wheat varieties and early flowering varieties have started to
flower over the weekend in parts of DE and E MD. Most wheat throughout
Delaware is just breaking boot or starting to head and is still a several
days from flowering. Recent rains and wet weather forecasted over the next
week will likely elevate FHB risk in parts of DE and E MD, particularly in
susceptible varieties. Wheat flowering during this time may be at elevated
risk for FHB. Caramba, Prosaro, and Proline are the most efficacious for FHB
and DON suppression and can be applied up to 5 days from the start of
flowering (50% of main tillers with anthers emerging from center of heads)
without significant dropoff in efficacy. Do not apply QOI-containing (group
11) fungicides for scab management.
