Most wheat in DE and Eastern parts of MD is entering the flag leaf stage or
did so last week. Growers who plan on applying fungicide at this stage
should avoid applications with fungicides containing a QOI (Group 11 Active
ingredient) later than FGS 9 (boot). University trials indicate that
applications of QOI's after FGS 9 can elevate DON in grain if infected with
FHB pathogen. Premix fungicides containing a triazole or SDHI do not reduce
