The risk for scab is low for the next 48 hours. There is the chance of showers on Friday and again early next week. Weather may be more favorable for any wheat that is late that has not flowered by then. Even with the current wet weather it will take a week to produce enough spores to infect any wheat that is flowering which should mean that most of our wheat will not be at risk or at a low risk of scab. Keep and eye on the weather and crop development. There are reports of scattered low levels of leaf rust in Maryland so scouting for other diseases should continue.
