The wheat in much of Kansas is now past the flowering or at the early stages
of grain development that are most vulnerable to Fusarium head blight (FHB).
However, there are still some areas of norhestern and north central KS that
are heading or flowering. The risk of FHB was lower this past week with
several days of sunny dry weather. With more rain in the forecast, I am
concerned that we could see the risk increase again soon. I was traveling in
south central KS this past week. I was only able to find trace levels of FHB
in this area of the state.
