As of today, May 21, 2015, wheat in Nebraska is at the boot to heading
growth stages. Due to recent heavy and frequent rains, the risk of Fusarium
head blight (FHB) in some wheat growing areas has increased to the medium
and high levels. For growers in the southeast, south central, and southwest
parts of the state (high risk areas for FHB), if your field has a low level
of stripe rust and you have not yet sprayed, it is advisable to wait until
full heading to early flowering and then apply Prosaro or Caramba. Either of
these fungicides has excellent efficacy on stripe rust and good efficacy on
FHB.
