The risk of Fusarium head blight (FHB) ranges from low to high throughout
the state due to widespread, frequent and heavy rainfall events before and
during wheat flowering. An application of Prosaro or Caramba is recommended
at early flowering to suppress FHB. Consider the yield potential and other
factors such as damage already done by stripe rust when making the decision
to apply a fungicide to suppress FHB. The probability of a positive net
return from applying a fungicide to suppress FHB increases with increasing
yield potential above 40 bu/acre. The preharvest interval for Prosaro and
Caramba is 30 days.
