We encourage those eligible and interested to apply.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""><div class="">Summary<br class=""><br class="">This position is located in the Office of National Programs (ONP), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), United States Department of Agriculture, in Beltsville, MD. The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership and direction for national and regional research programs related to grain crop improvement, production and protection.<br class=""><br class="">Duties<br class=""><ul class=""><li class="">Provides technical leadership and guidance in the area of Grain Crops.</li><li class="">Coordinates scientific research programs in the area of Grain Crops.</li><li class="">Participates in the review of scientific manuscripts as a reviewer or designator of peer reviewer(s) when strong differences of scientific opinion exist or arise.</li><li class="">Responsible for fiscal planning and providing input on budget initiatives for funding high priority research areas.</li><li class="">Develops National Research programs, evaluates programs, reviews process of research, interprets and documents research outcomes and impacts, and develops research initiatives.</li><li class="">Manages multidisciplinary research programs related to grain crops and coordinates team based multidisciplinary studies.</li><li class="">Establishes and maintains communication with ARS Research Leaders and non-ARS research organizations in the field of expertise to assure that ARS research programs are kept up-to-date scientifically.</li></ul>Conditions of Employment</div><div class=""><ul class=""><li class="">You must be a US Citizen or US National</li><li class="">Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt</li><li class="">Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check</li><li class="">Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.</li><li class="">Direct Deposit ?
