Notably, seedling blight, foot and crown (stalk) rot, and head (ear) blight are of concern not only because of yield losses but also because of mycotoxin contamination, threatening food and feed safety. Sustainable control of <em><span style='font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif'>Fusarium</span></em> diseases in crops demands integrated strategies, among which the deployment of resistant cultivars is a cornerstone. However, breeding for resistance to the <em><span style='font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif'>Fusarium</span></em> disease complex is demanding. It requires suitable germplasm and efficient selection strategies, as well as continuous long-term investment by breeders.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p style='mso-margin-top-alt:3.75pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:3.75pt;margin-left:0in;background:white;font-variant-ligatures: normal;font-variant-caps: normal;orphans: 2;text-align:start;widows: 2;-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px;text-decoration-thickness: initial;text-decoration-style: initial;text-decoration-color: initial;box-sizing: border-box;word-spacing:0px'><span style='color:#1C1D1E'>This special issue will be devoted to state-of-the-art contributions on breeding research and applied plant improvement covering all topics in the broader field of resistance to <em><span style='font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif'>Fusarium</span></em> species including their mycotoxins with a focus on cereals by phenotypic, molecular and biotechnology techniques.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p style='mso-margin-top-alt:3.75pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:3.75pt;margin-left:0in;background:white;font-variant-ligatures: normal;font-variant-caps: normal;orphans: 2;text-align:start;widows: 2;-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px;text-decoration-thickness: initial;text-decoration-style: initial;text-decoration-color: initial;box-sizing: border-box;word-spacing:0px'><span style='color:#1C1D1E'>Both reviews and original research are welcome.
