Dear Barley-CP Colleagues:

It has been customary to hold a planning workshop of the Barley-CP group
ahead of the next two-year grant cycle and have it scheduled just after the
spring USWBSI Executive Committee (EC) and the Steering Committee (SC)
meetings (EC - evening of 4/15/19 and SC - all day on 4/16/19). Thus, we
will be holding our Barley-CP meeting on *April 17* (Wednesday) at the
University of Minneapolis St. Paul campus.

Our tentative schedule would be for the Barley-CP meeting to begin at
8:30am and end at 2:30pm at a site on the St. Paul campus. For the
meeting, I will ask each USWBSI-funded researcher to summarize the current
status of their projects and future plans for the next two-year grant
cycle. We will then have a discussion by the group for Barley-CP funding
priorities.

I realize the busy schedules that all of you have and the difficulties in
taking time to travel to the Twin Cities for this meeting. Thus, for most
of you, we will accommodate your presentations via a web-based channel.
However, if any of you would like attend the meeting in person, we will
have a modest level of funding to support travel and lodging.

IMPORTANT: Anyone who needs financial assistance with travel costs should
communicate this need to me as soon as possible, but no later than* March 1
(Friday)*, with an estimate of amount of support needed. Sue Canty will
help facilitate hotel accommodations—more information to come later. I will
include requests for assistance with travel costs in the CP Planning
Meeting Proposal that I have to the Executive Committee/NFO in early March.

Thanks, Brian
